At Lancaster Hardwoods, our goal is to provide you with the hardwood floor you want, after providing you with the information you need, to help you make a wise decision for many years of wood floor satisfaction. We get a lot of word-of-mouth business from people who have been impressed with the beauty and quality of our happy customers' floors, and we'd like to keep it that way.
WE SPECIALIZE IN WOOD FLOORING. WE ALSO INSTALL, SAND and REFINISH WOOD FLOORING. But we understand that most people don't invest in a hardwood floor very often, so we don't expect our customers to know anything about wood or wood flooring. We do our best to explain whatever you don't understand and, on the rare occasions that we don't know the answer, we'll do our very best to "get the scoop" directly from the most reliable source. As part of this information process, we have gone to a lot of effort and expense to make large sample boards for you to compare the appearance of various species and grades that you can view at your leisure. This helps you to be more aware of the color variations and character that might be expected in your potential floor, which can avoid the unpleasant surprises that often come from having viewed smaller pieces.
Our showroom affords a comfortable, informative place in which to make the important investment decision about your hardwood floor. Many of our customers bring cabinet doors, tile, etc., so that they can get an idea of how their floor of choice might coordinate with their other major home investments.
We will do our very best to provide you with value (quality at a fair price), but we do not chase cheap merchandise because it almost never delivers value, and we do not want to be associate with the junk business. We agree with John Ruskin (1819-1900), noted English artist and philosopher, when he said:
"The common law of business prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. It cannot be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder it is well to add something for the risk you run and, if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better."
